"HERstory  Celebration of Leading Women in the United Nations"

The Human Rights Council (HRC) is the principal intergovernmental body within the United Nations (UN) system responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights around the globe, and for addressing and taking action on human rights violations around the globe.

The HRC meets for at least 10 weeks per year at the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland, in regular sessions usually taking place in March, June and September.

Servas International Peace Secretary, Danielle Serres, met with 3 Servas representatives during the Human Rights Council 35th session held June 6 - 23, 2017. Photo was taken at the UN Women exhibition "HERstory  Celebration of Leading Women in the United Nations" which has travelled from NYC to Geneva and now at the UNESCO in Paris.
